AN
OVERVIEW OF THE PAINTLESS DENT REMOVAL
This documents
will highlight the possibilities of PDR.
PDR is a technology
designed to remove small dents and dings. It is a system that attempts
to restore from 80% to 99.9%. No metal once damaged can be restored
to a perfect 100%.
A good example
of metal behavior is a soft drink can. If you crushed the can,
it will not return to its original condition as compared to a light
squeeze on the can

LIMITATIONS
IN PDR
- A Sheet
of metal once "stretched" cannot be restored to its
original condition. For example, a deep dent with sharp point
in the middle has its metal already stretched.
- Soft
metals with large dents can be restored but will leave a wavy
pattern due to the fact that the metal has been stretched.
- Dents on
hard surface of a car will not always turn out well if the dent
is too big or deep.
- Dents
on edges or corners (which make up to 10% to 15% of the body)
of a car cannot be removed. especially if dents are deep.
- Deep dents
and large dents can only be recovered partially (50% to 85%) depending
on the extent of the damage.
- Dents
that are "blocked" by the side impact bar or any other
metal cannot be removed.
- Dents that
sit on double or triple layers of metal cannot be removed.
- Finally,
PDR is a system that helps car owners keep their original paints
at a minimum cost by getting rid of shallow dents or dings.
